John Marshall PTO

Dear Parents or Guardians,

We hope that your family is able to stay safe and healthy as we begin this unprecedented 2020-2021 school year.  It should be reassuring to know that the John Marshall PTO will continue to be an important aspect of the John Marshall Community.  Even though some things will be different this year, the PTO will still be focused on supporting our students, families, and school faculty.  We look forward to finding new ways to stay connected as a school community.  

We have already designed some new options for school spirit wear including t-shirts and student masks. This year all the spirit wear options will be available for sale utilizing an online store that packages everything individually and mails it to your homes.  More information will be provided once we activate the online store later in September.

How to be a part of the PTO and “Magical” John Marshall School Community:

* Join the P.T.O. – We help parents, students, school staff and the community. We work together to share ideas about programs and activities that benefit our children. Our P.T.O. provides information and resources that strengthen the connections between children, parents, schools, and the community. Membership information will be provided once school begins.

* Volunteer!  Share your time and talents with the John Marshall School Community!  We would love to have you involved!   Volunteering does not require in-person commitments all the time; there are many other ways to help in our organization.

** In order to volunteer at any school event you MUST be a P.T.O. member.**

* Stay informed!  Attend P.T.O. general meetings which will be virtual to start the year,  visit the PTO section of the school website, and stay informed by reading our Facebook posts and reading any information that comes home through your child’s teacher.

* Support P.T.O. sponsored fundraisers. We offer a variety of fundraisers and ALL participation is optional.

* Participate in P.T.O. sponsored activities with your child.

Here are a few accomplishments the P.T.O. achieved last year with your support:

Funded school educational assembly programs.

Funded & organized family events: Boogie Bash, Pumpkin Carving, Candy BINGO, etc.

Purchased t-shirts  for every student in fifth grade.

Funded Teacher Appreciation celebration.

Purchased 4 combo printer-scanners for classrooms.
